Crust: make your own pizza dough, use store-bought or use flat bread or naan Homemade Taco Mix
1 ½ Tbsp (22 mL) chili powder
1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder
1 tsp (5 mL) cumin
½ tsp (2.5 mL) black pepper
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
½ tsp (2 mL) smoked paprika
½ tsp (2 mL) onion powder
¼ tsp (1 mL) crushed red pepper flakes
¼ tsp (1 mL) cinnamon
Directions
Combine all ingredients of homemade taco mix and store in an air-tight container for up to 6 weeks.
Preheat oven to 400oF (205oC). In a large pan, sauté turkey and onions until cooked. Add homemade taco mix and ½ cup (125 mL) water. Simmer 2-3 minutes until most of the water is absorbed.
Using a store-bought or homemade pizza crust, spread on a base of refried beans. Top with turkey mixture, tomatoes, cheese, and green onions. Bake for 12-15 minutes until brown and heated through.
Remove from oven and toss on a handful of fresh arugula (if using).
